Officially Recognised Close Protection Courses

If your plan is to become a close protection officer (CPO), you must first undergo SIA close protection training. This is a requirement under the Private Security Industry Authority Act 2001 making it a legal necessity for all those wishing to work in this specialist field. Here at Orchid Risk, we provide close protection services to clients, right across the globe, so it’s imperative that the training you receive reflects the role you will be carrying out.

We offer several course options including Fast Track Close Protection Training and will ensure that you have all the necessary skills going into the field. You can read more about each of these courses below. Or, if you require more information, you can call us on +44 (0) 1202 692250.

    SIA Close Protection Training

    Fast Track Close Protection

The SIA Fast Track Level 3 Certificate is designed for those with prior formal close protection training under their belt. As such, this particular course is ideal for those with specific backgrounds such as the Royal Military Police, Metropolitan Police Royal Protection and Special Air Service Regiment. Upon completion of your close protection course, it is imperative that you maintain your SIA license every three years.

Training dates are available on request, so to learn more about our three day long Fast Track SIA Close Protection Training, give us a call now.

Combined Close Protection and First Person on Scene

The Combined Close Protection and First Person on Scene course combines the SIA Level 3 Close Protection Course with the First Person on Scene Intermediate qualification. As a CPO, you might be required to provide bodyguard services at a client’s residence, and this could be either in the UK or abroad. Help is not always readily available, so it’s important that you know how to react in a worst-case scenario.

Of all our close protection courses, this one will prepare you for any eventuality. You’ll receive the standard training provided as part of our Level 3 Certificate. You’ll also receive a Level 2 BTEC Award IHCD – the Edexcel First Person on Scene (FPOS) certificate. This course will teach you how to provide immediate life support to assist in stabilising a patient before the arrival of pre-hospital care.

Hostile Environment Close Protection Operators Course (HECPO)

At Orchid Risk, we routinely dispatch CPOs to countries experiencing civil unrest, and in some cases, our operators may even find themselves operating inside a war zone. Our Hostile Environment Close Protection Operators Course (HECPO) will help prepare candidates for operating in countries where there is a genuine risk to human life. Those undertaking this particular SIA close protection training will be trained to complete tasks in challenging situations that reflect high-risk and hostile environments.

HECPO close protection courses cover a range of areas from weapon safety and practice live firing competencies to preparing and supporting a hostile environment close protection operation.
