Approved paediatric first aid training courses
When working with children, you must be prepared for anything. Quick thinking can be the difference between life and death. From a choking incident to anaphylactic shock, knowing what to do when an emergency arises is crucial. Here at Orchid Risk, our paediatric first aid training programmes have been developed in-line with the framework set out by Millie’s Mark.
Our skilled instructors will teach you the skills and knowledge that you will need to tackle any emergency. If you would like to know more about Millie’s Mark or our paediatric first aid courses, read on below.
What is Millie’s Mark?
Millie’s Mark was founded to improve upon the standards that currently exist within early year’s environments. These guidelines require only a single paediatric first aid certificate holder to be present in a setting where children are being cared for. However, any childcare provider that chooses to have all of their staff fully trained will receive the Millie’s Mark accreditation.
This accreditation is only awarded so long as this training is kept up-to-date and all staff members receive it. By having this accreditation, you are demonstrating to your parents that every step is being taken to keep their children safe.
How can Orchid Risk help?
At Orchid Risk, our two-day paediatric first aid course has been developed with meeting the standards set out by Millie’s Mark in mind. Attendees of this course will receive extensive training and participate in a variety of exercises designed to test their knowledge. Each of our instructors has been fully trained and certified to guide you from start-to-finish.
Throughout the course, you will cover a broad range of areas such as providing emergency care to treat a wide array of injuries. To remain fully compliant with Millie’s Mark, we will teach you how to manage the following:
